Sterling Silver Bells

Dec 13th 2018

It’s one of the most recorded songs of all time and we have several pieces of sterling silver jewelry to remind you of it.

Silver Bells” was performed by Bob Hope and Marilyn Maxwell in “The Lemon Drop Kid,” which ironically is about a con artist yet produced one of the most memorable holiday songs of all time. In the movie Hope plays the con, the Lemon Drop Kid, who uses Santa Claus for dubious means.

Decca Records first released the song over the air waves, performed by Bing Crosby and Carol Richards. When it became a holiday hit, Hope and Maxwell were called back in to the studio to film a more elaborate production of the song for the movie.

"Silver Bells" was composed by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans, and originally named “Tinkle Bells." It has been recorded by everyone from Alan Jackson to Mannheim Steamroller to Twisted Sister.

A silver bell makes a unique charm for a sterling silver bracelet and you can find a single bell or a bracelet filled with them, for a wrist or ankle, at Sarraf.com.
